What's Included
A real thermostat install
Not just slapping a thermostat on the wall — wiring, configuration, and the walkthrough so you know how it works.
Wire compatibility check
We verify your existing wiring matches what the new thermostat needs — R, C, G, Y, W, O/B, plus any heat pump or staging wires.
C-wire installation
Smart thermostats need a common wire for steady power. If yours is missing, we run a real C-wire — not the cheap adapter that ages out in 18 months.
System configuration
Tell the thermostat what kind of system it controls — gas, electric, heat pump, dual-fuel, 1-stage or 2-stage. Wrong config = wrong runtime.
Test every mode
Cool, heat, fan, aux heat (if you have it). We confirm each call actually triggers the right output before we leave.
Wi-Fi / app setup
If it's smart, we connect it to your Wi-Fi, set up the app on your phone, and walk you through schedules and remote control.
Walkthrough
We show you how to use it. Most thermostat warranty claims happen because someone doesn't know how it works — we make sure that's not you.
Thermostat Install Questions
Thermostat installation FAQ
How much does thermostat installation cost?
Flat fee for a standard wire-compatible install. Higher if we need to run a new C-wire or the system is complex (heat pump with dual-fuel, multi-stage, zoned). We give you the number on the phone or in writing first.
Can I install it myself?
For a like-for-like swap with matching wires, yes. For C-wire installs, heat pumps, multi-stage systems, or anything where the labels don't match — calling a pro saves time and avoids frying a control board.
What's a C-wire and do I need one?
The common wire — provides steady 24V power to the thermostat. Required for smart thermostats. Older homes often don't have one. We run a real C-wire instead of using an adapter, which gives you a more reliable install long-term.
Will my old thermostat be compatible?
Depends on the system. Heat pumps, dual-fuel, and high-end multi-stage systems need thermostats that support those modes. Tell us what you have and we'll match it.
What if my thermostat is broken — repair or replace?
Usually replace — thermostats aren't worth repairing once they fail. See our thermostat repair page to diagnose first.
