What's Included

A real AC tune-up — top to bottom

Some shops call a filter swap a "tune-up." We don't. Here's everything that's actually included in a Conserve AC maintenance visit.

Coil cleaning

Outdoor condenser coil cleaned with proper chemical, evaporator coil inspected. Dirty coils are the #1 cause of high summer bills.

Refrigerant check

Pressures measured and superheat/subcool verified. Low refrigerant means there's a leak — we'll find it, not just top it off.

Electrical inspection

Capacitors tested, contactors checked, amp draws verified, connections tightened. Catches the failures that cause no-cool calls.

Condensate line clearing

Drain line flushed, float switch tested. Prevents the water leaks that cause ceiling damage and emergency shutdowns.

Filter check & replacement

Standard filter included; we'll let you know if a higher-MERV option fits your system without restricting airflow.

Performance test & report

Temperature split measured, airflow verified, system run through full cycle. You get a written report of system health.

Why It Matters

Three reasons to tune up every spring

1

Lower energy bills

A clean system runs 15–25% more efficiently. The tune-up usually pays for itself within one summer.

2

Fewer breakdowns

Most mid-summer emergencies are problems we'd have caught in spring. Tune-ups prevent the worst-case call.

3

Warranty protection

Most manufacturer warranties require documented annual maintenance. Skip it and you could void coverage.

AC Maintenance Questions

AC maintenance FAQ

How often should I service my AC?

Once a year — ideally in spring before the cooling season starts. An annual tune-up prevents most mid-summer breakdowns, keeps energy bills lower, and is often required to keep your manufacturer warranty valid.

How much does an AC tune-up cost?

Flat, upfront rate. We give you the price when you book — no add-ons or surprises. Maintenance plan members get the tune-up at a discounted rate, twice a year.

My AC seems fine — do I really need maintenance?

Yes — the symptoms of a failing system often show up only after damage is done (a frozen coil, a burned-out compressor). Most of what we catch in a tune-up wouldn't be visible to a homeowner until it failed.

Should I get a maintenance plan?

If you want twice-yearly service (spring AC + fall heating), priority scheduling, no after-hours fees, and parts & labor discounts on repairs — yes. See our preventive maintenance plan page for details.

When's the best time to book a tune-up?

Late March through May, before peak season. Schedule fills up fast once temperatures spike — and that's also when small problems become expensive ones.
